WILLIAM ST | MULTI-RESIDENTIAL
William Street, Ryde, is a bespoke multi residential project that is located directly adjacent Victoria Road in West Ryde. The site holds a highly prominent location on the ridge line of Victoria Road as it sweeps towards the east in alignment with Parramatta River.
The design proposal is a direct response to the unusually elongated site shape, resolved as a sequence of rounded and flowing forms that mirror the very strong horizontal geometry and broad sweep of Victoria Road. Solid half height concrete balustrades reinforce the aesthetic whilst also providing a degree of visual and acoustic separation. Occupant amenity is further enhanced by the bi-fold timber screens that provide users the ability to open up or shut down their individual apartments as conditions and mood allow.
The internal configuration of apartments has been designed to maximise the number of apartments that receive solar access (80%), cross ventilation (90%), whilst also optimising the view potential towards Parramatta River and the city skyline.
Finally, a sequence of rooftop facilities provide external space for the use of all residents and have been designed as a series of terraces that fall away to the rear of the site in a move that reinforces the natural topography of the site.
